So Syncd FAQs

How does So Syncd work?

So Syncd is a dating app and website that connects compatible personality types. You sign up like any normal dating website but with one extra crucial piece of information: your personality type. The next step is finding someone who you connect with in a meaningful way. If you know which personality types you’re looking for, you can search for those specific types. If not, just click 'choose for me' and we can do the hard work finding compatible matches for you using our proprietary algorithm. We pair people who have just the right amount of similarities to 'get' each other and just the right amount of differences to create that spark. It's totally free to sign up.

What features are available?

  • We have a free personality test that you can take to discover your type and we provide a free description for you at the end.
  • We get people to verify their email addresses when signing up to protect the safety of our community.
  • You can search for people by personality type, age, location and religion.
  • We calculate compatibility percentages based on how likely you are to connect with a great match.

What’s my Myers & Briggs personality type?

If you’re not sure what your personality type is, you can take our personality test. It's free and it only takes five minutes! You can also head over to our type guide for a short summary of each type.

Help! I've tested as different types on different days. What's my real personality type?

Online tests can be helpful in finding out your personality type, but they have limitations. If you want more clarity about your results, we'd recommend reading each type description and seeing which you think best describes you. Or even better, read about the cognitive functions that each type uses and work out which you use most. There's a great introduction to cognitive functions on Psychology Junkie .

What personality type system is So Syncd based on?

So Syncd is based on the Myers & Briggs personality type model. The theory was developed by Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers, who based it on work by Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist who founded analytical psychology. Isabel Briggs Myers wrote an incredibly informative book, called Gifts Differing: Understanding Personality Type. It looks at both the theory and the practical application of personality types and we'd highly recommend it.

What’s the best match for my personality type?

To find out who you are most likely to be compatible with, head over to our type guide. We have a 60-second guide to each of the types, along with their ideal date and most compatible matches.

Should I only date certain personality types?

In a word, no. It's true that certain personality types are more likely to be compatible and we are here to increase your chance of finding someone who you fall madly in love with. But attraction is very complex and personality type is just one factor that plays a part. If you have a great connection with someone, we wouldn't recommend writing them off just because they're a certain personality type.

This is fascinating. Where else can I find out more?

Glad you think so - we do too! If you want to hear more about the dynamics of personality types and love, you can download our podcast Personality Love Lab from Spotify, Google Podcasts or Apple Podcasts. Our co-founders interview real couples of various personality types about their relationships.

One of our favourite resources for learning more is Personality Hacker, created by the incredibly insightful Joel Mark-Witt and Antonia Dodge. Don't forget to check out their awesome podcast. We also love Psychology Junkie, Introvert, Dear, Personality Junkie and Truity, which are full of in-depth information about personality types and psychology. Last but not least, Dario Nardi is doing some fascinating research into the neuroscience of Myers & Briggs personality types, which he describes in his book Neuroscience of Personality: Brain Savvy Insights for All Types of People.
