We’re Jess and Lou, the sisters behind So Syncd
We started So Syncd because we believe relationships shouldn't feel like a problem you can't solve.
Neither of us set out to work in relationships. Jess trained as a chemist and worked in investment banking. Lou studied economics and worked in real estate. If you'd told us back then we'd end up here, we wouldn't have believed you.
But the more we learned, the more we realized how much this actually matters. Research consistently shows that the quality of our relationships is one of the strongest predictors of happiness. Yet most of us are never taught how to actually navigate them. We’re taught how to pass exams, build careers and manage our finances but when it comes to relationships, we’re left to figure things out for ourselves.
Our journey
Our journey in the relationship world started with a dating app built on personality compatibility. What started as an idea between two sisters over a drink in London’s Soho grew into a community of hundreds of thousands of people. The messages about people finally finding that deep connection after years of struggling and being sent photos from weddings never got old.
Along the way, journalists started taking notice. We've now been featured in the press over 1,000 times (everywhere from Forbes to Vice to Cosmopolitan) talking about what actually makes connection and compatibility work.
But as we went deeper, we noticed that personality was only half the equation. Two people could be compatible on paper and still find themselves stuck in the same painful cycles. The other half of the equation was attachment style.
Personality meets attachment styles
Personality helps explain who you naturally connect with. Attachment style helps explain what happens once you do. Why you overthink, chase, pull away, shut down or lose yourself when feelings get involved.
We started sharing what we were learning. That grew into a relationship advice platform read by more than 11 million people, and eventually into the programs, courses and coaching we offer today to help people feel secure in themselves, understand the person in front of them and know how to navigate whatever happens next.
