Famous people with the INFP personality type

Today we look at 21 INFP famous people. INFPs are unique individuals. They have a vivid imagination and are the ultimate daydreamers. This makes INFPs creative personality types who think outside the box.

INFPs are highly empathetic and feel other people’s emotions deeply, often relating the situation to their own feelings and experiences.

INFPs make up 4.1% of the male population and 4.6% of the female population.

INFPs are incredibly principled and value their integrity. They have a strong sense of right and wrong. An INFP would never compromise their values for personal gain, but rather fight for what they believe in.

Provided their principals are unchallenged, INFPs are open-minded and don’t judge other people on their behavior and opinions, but instead appreciate that everyone is different. So it’s no surprise this list of INFP famous people is full of forward-thinking individualists.

INFPs are idealistic and see the positive in people. They are very much focused on the big picture.

From David Attenborough, who is passionate about the future of nature and the planet, to Princess Diana, who was hugely philanthropic and used her position to make and change, INFPs have a strong of duty to leave the world a better place than when they found it.

David Attenborough

David Attenborough is an INFP. He is caring, empathetic and open-minded. He is a unique mix of being highly in touch with his own emotions and also wanting to understand others (including the planet) on a deep level. David Attenborough has clear values and has spent many years fighting for a better planet.

Princess Diana

Princess Diana was an INFP. Princess Diana was an INFP. She felt a strong desire to leave the world a better place, which she succeeded in doing. Princess Diana, just like an INFP, had a strong sense of justice and believed that people should do what they could to help others in pain. Throughout her life, Princess Diana supported and gave her voice to people struggling with AIDS, leprosy, cancer, illnesses, and homelessness. She often broke royal protocol to hug people on her tours, particularly ill people. She spoke of HIV and AIDs often, stating “HIV does not make people dangerous to know, so you can shake their hands and give them a hug, heaven knows, they need it.” Diana’s strong sense of empathy meant that understanding people came naturally to her and that she felt other people’s emotions as if they were her own.

Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger was an INFP. He had a unique ability to translate his emotions and depth to his on-screen characters. A paradox of an INFP is that they are often easy-going but at the same pretty intense. Heath Ledger was very much like this. He would prepare for his acting roles in an unrivalled way. He used method acting to delve deeper into the character he was portraying for months before filming commenced, using his empathy and emotional traits to his (and our!) benefit. However, he also never had acting classes and never prepared for auditions.

Mary Kate Olsen

Mary Kate Olsen is an INFP. She is empathetic and creative. Whilst identical in looks (although I know I can tell the difference!), Mary-Kate and Ashley, an INTJ, have very different personality traits. Mary-Kate is a free spirit who tends to shy away from, the spotlight and keeps herself to herself. Nowadays, as a team, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s creativity and work ethic make them the talk of the town at New York Fashion Week. Plus, they make an unrivalled sister combo (apart from me and Jess of course)! Mary Kate said of their two personalities, “To me, the difference between us is pretty obvious. She thinks the opposite of fire is water, and I think the opposite of fire is no fire.” She’s essentially saying they have different ways of looking at the world and different perspectives.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is an INFP. Much like Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp really has a depth of emotions that he channels into the variety of characters that he portrays, and he pulls it off in an unbelievable way. However, unlike a lot of the characters he plays, Johnny is reserved and keeps himself to himself. He prefers to be private, although that’s not always possible when there are lots of court documents and press!

Sia

Sia is an INFP. I don’t think anyone can argue that Sia isn’t an introvert. She prefers to cover her face during performances and focuses on her music. She is creative, individualistic and cares about doing good in the world.

Bob Marley

Bob Marley was an INFP. He was creative, thoughtful and artistic. He channelled his commitment to spreading the message and importance of positivity, happiness and love in to the world through his music. Bob Marley was peaceful, spiritual and very much driven by his emotional values.

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was an INFP. She had deep inner values and a strong interest in personal growth. Audrey was elegant, reserved and she had a mysterious aura.

Timothée Chalamet

Just like his character, Elio, in Call me by Your Name, Timothée Chalamet is an INFP. However, he is a more ‘extroverted’ introvert. He tries hard not to offend people while expressing his strong beliefs and opinions, which is typical of an INFP. Time named Timothée Chalamet a ‘Next Generation Leader’ and, when asked what he stands for, he responded, “I feel like I’m here to show that to wear your heart on your sleeve is O.K.” INFPs are often emotional people, and that’s OK!

Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys is an INFP. She has a strong desire to stay true to herself and her authentic identity which is evident from her song lyrics.

Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain was an INFP. He had an unbelievable depth of emotions, which he translated into his song writing.

Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is an INFP. She has a strong sense of right and wrong, and she fights for what she believes in. Anna Paquin is a big advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson is an INFP. He is principled and doesn’t compromise his values for personal gain. He lives in his head and does this because he wants to, not because other’s expect things from him. He enjoys being alone, in nature and keeps himself to himself. Robert Pattinson is probably my only claim to fame because he was my boyfriend’s babysitter when he lived in London!

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder is an INFP. She is passionate, intelligent and principled, always standing up for her beliefs.

Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is an INFP. He has a strong sense of right and wrong. He shows kindness and empathy towards his fans. Despite his major success, Keanu Reeves demonstrates humility in his day-to-day life. He is an all-around great person. His random acts of kindness include secretly donating large sums of money to children’s hospitals, respecting females’ boundaries in photos (which you’d think should be a given), and buying an ice cream for a fan so he could sign an autograph on the receipt.

Isabel Briggs Myers

Isabel Briggs Myers was an INFP. She developed the 16 personality type theory with her mom, Katharine Cook Briggs.

David Bowie

David Bowie was an INFP. He was mysterious and typically expressed himself through metaphors in his lyrics. He was very creative, both visually and through his music, but I also think that his dry sense of humor was underrated. He played to his audience very well. All of these factors, plus more, make Bowie one of the most iconic singer/songwriters to this day!

Cindy Kimberly

Cindy Kimberly is an INFP. Whilst it isn’t your typical personality type for an Instagram influencer scouted by Justin Bieber, she has a deeper, emotional side to her. Cindy said herself on Twitter that she is an INFP.

Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix, much like his character Arthur Fleck (Joker), is an INFP. Joaquin vaues his freedom, much like INFPs, and has a strong sense of right or wrong. He is an animal activist and has been a vegan since he was 3 years old.

Victoria Pedretti

Victoria Pedretti is an INFP. She is relaxed, thoughtful and in tune with her emotions. She is motivated by her values, like INFPs, and passionate about her career, using her acting roles to highlight issues she feels strongly about.

Tim Burton

Tim Burton is an INFP. A lot like his characters, Tim is quirky, individualistic and has a strong moral compass. He also lives in his head and has a vivid imagination, which is how he creates some of the best fairytales of all time.
