Pandemic Effects: Meaningful Matches and Deeper Dating

It’s no secret that the pandemic has caused a lot of changes in the way we live our lives. One of the most significant changes has been the way we date. With so many people stuck at home and social distancing becoming the new norm, shallow dating just isn’t possible anymore. Instead, we’re seeing a shift towards deeper dating.

What is deeper dating? It’s a term that is used to describe a way of dating that’s focused on developing a deep, meaningful connection with someone. It’s about getting to know someone on a much deeper level than you would if you were just going on casual dates.

We recently ran a survey of 1,000 respondents about how Covid has encouraged people to seek out more meaningful relationships. Here’s what we found:

• 73% of respondents said they are clearer about what they want in a partner as a result of the pandemic. This suggests that people have had time to reflect on what qualities are important to them.

• 75% of respondents have been more selective about who they date since the pandemic. This follows on from the previous statistic. Seeing as people are clearer about what they’re looking for when it comes to love, they’re refusing to settle.

• 74% of respondents have started dating more authentically since the pandemic. This means that people are being truer to themselves, and they’re not pretending to be someone they’re not just to impress a date.

• 83% of respondents have placed more importance on personality since the pandemic. This is because people are now looking for a partner that they can really connect with on a deeper level and looks alone just won’t cut it.

• 78% of respondents said that deeper connections are more important to them since the pandemic. This highlights that people are no longer interested in surface-level relationships. They want something real and meaningful.

• 30% of respondents now prefer to do video dates before in-person dates.  This is likely because people want to get to know someone better before meeting them in person. It also helps to make sure that there is a connection there before making any further plans.

The pandemic has definitely caused a shift in the way we date, and it looks like deeper dating is here to stay. If you’re looking for love, don’t be afraid to take your time and really get to know someone before you meet them in person. And remember, it’s better to focus on quality over quantity!
