16 Personality Types of Mean Girls Characters

16 Personality Types of Mean Girls Characters

Today we explore the 16 personality types of Mean Girls characters. Mean Girls is one of the most iconic movies of my generation. It came out in 2004 and is still relevant today.

As the name clearly implies, there are A LOT of big characters in Mean Girls. Each of them is very unique in their own way. Whether it’s one of the Plastics or Gretchen Weiner, each character has their own quirks that make them who they are.

So, are you a confident leader with a bossy edge like Regina George, an ESTJ? or are you a free-spirited and creative type who values their individuality like Janis Ian, an ISFP? If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Damian is not too gay to have (cognitive) functions!

Read on the find out which Mean Girls character shares your personality type.  If you don’t know your personality type, you can take our free 5-minute personality test.

Regina George: ESTJ

Regina George is your typical unhealthy ESTJ. She’s confident, bossy, and always has to be in control. ESTJs are known for being natural leaders which is fitting for Regina George. She’s the head of Plastics and expects her friends to follow her lead no matter what. Regina is very set in her ways and can be quite stubborn. She doesn’t like change and she wants to maintain the status quo with herself in charge. Like many ESTJs, she’s not afraid to speak her mind and can be rather blunt. Regina is also known for being manipulative and often uses her friends to get what she wants.

Cady Heron: ISFJ

Cady Heron is an ISFJ in Mean Girls. Like all of the Mean Girls characters, Cady exhibits a number of unhealthy traits. ISFJs want to make everyone happy but when this is taken to an extreme, they can become overly people-pleasing. Cady tried so hard to make everyone happy, from the Plastics to Janis Ian, but she ended up losing her sense of self. She didn’t know which group she belonged in and she started to believe the lies that the Plastics were telling her. ISFJs are famously observant and good at reading people. Cady used this to her advantage when she was trying to take down the Plastics from the inside. But she also let her observations get the best of her, allowing herself to be swayed by popular opinion instead of thinking for herself.

Karen Smith: ENFP

Karen Smith is an ENFP. ENFPs are the “idealists” of the personality type world and they often have a lot of creativity and charisma. Karen is no exception. She’s the most enthusiastic member of Plastics and loves to have fun. She doesn’t tend to take things too seriously. ENFPs are also known for being very sensitive, which is clear when you see how hurt she gets when Regina George mistreats her. Karen also lives in her head and not in the physical world. She uses her intuition and her boobs to tell when it’s raining.

Gretchen Wieners: ESFJ

Gretchen Wieners is an ESFJ. ESFJs are known for being people-pleasers and Gretchen definitely falls into the extreme end of that category. She’s always trying to fit in and be liked by Regina George, even though it’s clear that she doesn’t really have the same confidence as Regina. This can lead Gretchen to compromise on her own values and happiness. She’s also very loyal to her friends and always wants to make sure everyone is happy, this is typical of ESFJs. Gretchen remained loyal to Regina until she felt like Regina wronged her and went too far, and then she couldn’t take it anymore. ESFJs love to gossip and Gretchen is no different. That’s why her hair is so big… it’s full of secrets!

Janis Ian: ISFP

Janis Ian is an ISFP. ISFPs are known as free-spirited people who value their individuality. They’re also very creative and sensitive. Janis is all of those things. She doesn’t conform to the social norms in North Shore High School and is actively anti-them. Janis is also very creative, as seen in her fashion choices, make-up, and her art projects. ISFPs are sensitive individuals who feel things deeply. Janis is an emotional person. She is still harboring anger towards Regina George for what she did to her in middle school and she wants her revenge. However, she is also very sensitive to the pain of others, which is why she befriends Cady Heron when she sees how lost and alone Cady is.

Damian Leigh: ENFP

Damian Leigh is an ENFP. ENFPs are known for being the life of the party. They’re charming, outgoing, and love to have fun. Damian definitely embodies all of those qualities. He’s always cracking jokes and he loves to be surrounded by people. He’s also very intuitive and quick-witted. Damian is always able to see through people and he knows exactly what to say to get a rise out of them. This can be both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because it means he’s always able to keep things interesting. But it’s bad because it means he sometimes says things without thinking about how they might affect other people. ENFPs have a lot of energy and Damian is no different. He’s always on the go and he’s always up for anything.

Kevin Gnapoor: ENTP

Kevin Gnapoor is an ENTP. He’s outgoing, charming, and always has something interesting to say. ENTPs are known for being intelligent, curious, and always up for debate. Kevin is the typical ENTP in that he’s always trying to learn new things and enjoys being around people. That’s why he is so enthusiastic about the Mathletes and he really wants a girl on the team. Kevin is also known for being a bit of a know-it-all and he can be quite argumentative. However, he’s usually just trying to engage in friendly debate and he doesn’t actually mean to offend anyone. Kevin manages to charm Janis Ian in the end, which is a true testament to his ENTP personality.

Ms. Norbury: INFJ

Ms. Norbury is an idealistic INFJ. She’s always looking to help others and make sure they’re happy. INFJs are known for being compassionate and Ms. Norbury is no exception. She’s always quick to comfort her students and offers them advice when they need it. Ms. Norbury is also a great listener and she’s always there for her students. INFJs are very intuitive and they are great at reading people. This comes in handy for Ms. Norbury when she’s trying to help Cady and she can see how she is changing. She’s always looking out for her student’s best interests and she wants to help them in any way she can. Ms. Norbury also gives Cady a second chance when she sees that Cady is truly sorry for her actions.

Mrs. June George: ESFJ

Regina’s mom, Mrs. George, is an ESFJ. ESFJs are outgoing, kind, and compassionate. They often want to fit in with those around them which is something Mrs. George tries to do with Regina’s friends. She loves having the girls around and she wants them to think of her as a cool mom, not a regular mom. ESFJs are known for their strong sense of duty and Mrs. George is there for Regina when she needs her. She’s there with her camera taking photos of Halloween outfits or filming her Christmas dance. although she’s so enthusiastic she can’t help getting involved herself!

Principal Duvall: ISTJ

Principal Duvall is an ISTJ. ISTJs are known for being logical, practical, and duty oriented. They’re also very loyal and reliable. Principal Duvall definitely embodies all of those qualities. He’s a no-nonsense headteacher who always follows the rules. He’s also very loyal to his school and he wants to make sure that everything is running smoothly. ISTJs are detail-oriented individuals and Principal Duvall is no different. He’s always making sure that the students are behaving and that the teachers are teaching.

So there you have it, the 16 personality types of Mean Girls characters. The characters all have different personality types that contribute to the movie in various ways. ISFJs like Cady Heron are observant and good at reading people, which comes in handy when taking down the Plastics from the inside.
